After graduating as a Medical Doctor at Universidad de Valencia (1999), Miriam Navarro Beltrá obtained an International Masters in Parasitic Tropical Diseases from the same institution. She specialized in Family and Community Medicine (Valencia, 2005) and conducted research in Infectious Diseases and Public Health from 2008 to 2011, through a Río Hortega (ISCIII) contract at the Ramón y Cajal Hospital.
Ms. Navarro Beltrá coordinated the Public Health and Immigration group of the Ramón y Cajal University Hospital (Madrid), from 2006 to 2011.
She currently imparts classes on Chagas disease at the Master courses on Tropical Medicine and Development Cooperation at Universidad Rey Juan Carlos, Madrid, and is the Secretary of the Spanish Society of Tropical Medicine and International Health (Sociedad Española de Medicina Tropical y Salud Internacional –SEMTSI).
