Said session is under a Comprehensive Plan of Dengue Prevention, carried out by the Municipality of Tigre and aimed at integrating all social actors in the prevention of this vector-borne disease transmission.

It was held on 16 November 2009 at the Casa de la Cultura in Tigre and it was honoured by the presence of Dr. Juan Bisset, Chief of the Vector Control Department at the Instituto de Medicina Tropical "Pedro Kouri", from Cuba; the Chielf of the Zoonosis Department of Hospital de Enfermedades Infecciosas "Francisco Muñiz", Dr. Alfredo Seijo; the Secretary of Sanitary Policy and Human Development of Tigre, Mrs. Malena Massa and the Executive Manager of Fundación Mundo Sano, Licenciate Héctor Coto. Tigre Municipality Mayor, Mr. Sergio Massa, and the Minister of Health of the Buenos Aires province, Dr. Claudio Zin were also present.

At the session, local authorities remarked that, together with Mundo Sano, they are taking prevention steps that consist of placing ovitraps in Tigre district.

Quite recently, the Municipality of Tigre has signed a framework agreement with Mundo Sano by which they aim at strengthening technological and scientific development in the healthcare sector, as well as promoting actions to enhance policies to fight dengue in all the district. One of the main goals has been to carry out a comprehensive survey of the district so as to detect the neighbourhoods that are more prone to having the dengue-transmission mosquito, Aedes aegypti.
