On September 3rd and 4th, Mundo Sano held the XII International Symposium on Epidemiology Control of Vector-Borne Diseases in Buenos Aires, in which national and international distinguished experts made their presentations on Dengue disease, Chagas disease and other unattended diseases.

The experience of controlling the dengue-transmission mosquito that was carried out in the city of Clorinda (Formosa province) during 5 years by Fundación Mundo Sano was recently legitimated in the scientific world when an article reporting the development of the programme was published in the American journal PLoS (Public Library of Science), one of the most prestigious in the world in the matter.

Fundación Mundo Sano and the Ministry of Health of the Buenos Aires province have agreed to jointly carry out a Programme with unprecedented contents, aimed at detecting school children who are positive for Chagas disease, and at providing them with adequate treatment.

As is widely known by all who accompany our activities, both in Clorinda (Formosa) and in Puerto Iguazú (Misiones), Mundo Sano carries out permanent surveillance tasks to track the evolution of Aedes aegypti populations, the dengue transmitter mosquito.

Since there has been a proliferation of dengue cases in several provinces of Argentina, Mundo Sano addresses the residents in the areas currently at risk and seeks their collaboration with the local authorities in the tasks of eliminating water-filled containers and clearing the land in households' neighboring areas in order to prevent the disease-vector mosquito from breeding.

The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Cuba and the Historian's Office of Havana agreed with Mundo Sano on the design and execution of a rodent control program in the oldest area of the island's capital city.
