Pursuant to the provisions of the National Agency for the Promotion of Science and Technology's [Agencia Nacional de Promoción Científica y Tecnológica] set forth at Resolution 117, Mundo Sano Foundation is a Technology Liaison Unit (TLU), according to Law No 23.877.
The TLU is non-governmental entity created for the purpose of identifying, selecting and elaborating research and development, technology transfer and technical assistance projects. It represents the fundamental system core by providing the legal structure to facilitate projects' management, organization and execution. This unit may or may not be related to a public agency.

The TLUs (Technology Liaison Units) are those entities to which the companies may resort when preparing a plan; they provide assistance on the elaboration of a Project and help communication between Science and Technology Institutions and the private sector.

In June 2002, an agreement was signed between CONICET (National Scientific and Technical Research Council) and Mundo Sano Foundation to promote technological liaison activities, whereby the Foundation acts as a fund administrator.
